Life on Campus: Living in Residence
Escape from Sask Hall |
|
The first student residence was completed on the University
of Saskatchewan campus in 1912. The University had made a decision to
have a residence rather than fraternity system for their student housing,
believing residences were more democratic. Until the 1970s the residences were segregated. Men and women were only allowed to visit
one another during certain hours, and strict curfews were in place.
