Students and the World: Introduction
Howitzers on campus |
|
Life on campus has often been portrayed as an
existence in an ivory
tower. Though life at the University can at times be insular, events
outside its boundary do affect
the lives of its students. Through good times and bad, through war,
economic depression and
boom, the student experience has not been immune to the sweep of global
events, nor has the
world been immune to the initiatives and actions of students.
