Sheaf - February 1918
William Dobie Beaton, enlisted March 1917; killed in action 15 November 1917. "He was loved instead of liked," wrote The Sheaf. "Loved for the clean boyhood of him, for his ardent spirit, for his abiding sense of humor, and for the fact that although still a boy he was at the same time the truest man we shall ever know."
