The Engineering Society was originally formed in 1919 and would remain relatively unchanged until the 1960s, when it was reorganized in order to reflect the different disciplines within Engineering. The original objectives of the organization were to hear outside speakers in technical and non-technical subjects, to invite faculty members to lecture on general subjects, invite manufacturers and agents to display and demonstrate their products, and to encourage students to speak in public, all while generally enhancing the social life of the Engineering student. |
