Saskatchewan Council for Archives and Archivists - AN EXHIBITION

Saskatchewan and the Visual Arts
About the Exhibit

The purpose of this virtual exhibit is to promote access to the archival materials and special collections held by the members of the Saskatchewan Council of Archives and Archivists. The archival and special collections of its members contain a rich deposit of materials related to the development of the visual arts in the province of Saskatchewan and to the lives and work of individual artists. They are of potential historical and artistic value to art historians, artists, and other researchers. The materials in these collections date from the late 1800s to the present, with new acquisitions arriving regularly. They include the records of educational institutions, galleries, and other arts-related organizations; the private and professional records of artists; works of art; slides and photographs; exhibition catalogues; news clippings; sketch books; and scrapbooks. This exhibit is not intended to be a comprehensive history or an exhaustive list of significant Saskatchewan artists, but a representative sampling of the materials that are available.
