Historical Note: Regina has a long tradition of aviation firsts. The first flight over Regina took place in 1911 when Bob St. Henry took his Curtiss Pusher biplane over the city, landing it on the racetrack's infield. The first licensed pilot in Canada was Regina 's Roland J. Groome, and his business was the first licensed aerodrome in Canada . The first intercity airmail in the province was flown from Saskatoon to Regina in 1919 by Groome and his business partner Bob McCombie, who himself was Canada 's first licensed engineer.
