Historical Note: By the time World War II ended, enrolment
in the provincial Normal Schools had dropped markedly. There were three
campuses for the school: in Saskatoon, Regina, and Moose Jaw. The decision
was made to close the Regina school at the end of 1944. In 1959, the teachers’
college was moved back to Regina. Regina College, the Normal School’s
neighbor, became a part of the University of Saskatchewan in 1961, and
by 1964, the Normal Schools in Saskatoon and Regina both became part of
the University of Saskatchewan.
