Photographer: Unknown
Parent fonds/collection: RPL Photograph Collection
Historical Note: The police officer helping the
man on the ground has been identified previously as being Detective
Charles Millar, who was killed in the riot. Further investigation,
however, indicates that the man on the ground may be Detective Millar
instead. A police detective would not be expected to be in uniform,
as the police officer who is helping the man on the ground clearly
is. The man on the ground is dressed in a suit and tie, which would
be unlikely garb for a trekker to be wearing but which might be appropriate
for a police detective. This photograph and RPL-B-393 are the two
images most often reprinted in volumes that discuss the Regina Riot. |
