Tokyo9 - The first
subway in Japan (and in Asia) was the Ginza Line in Tokyo, the
only line until after World War II. Service began in 1927 between
Ueno and Asakusa. Some of the stations were built in Art Deco
style. Sign on the front of the train reads, "bound for
Shimbashi". |
