Nara Prefect3 - The
Horryu-ji is one of the "Seven Great Temples of Nara".
It was founded by Prince Shotoku (573-621) and completed in 607,
it is the headquarters of the Shotoku sect. Among the numerous
treasures of the Horryu-ji are several sculptures of the Asuka
Period (522-645) and one of the world's oldest wooden buildings. |
