Kyoto5 - Kitayama
is a district in northern Kyoto in the present Kita Ward. The
costume of the women is characteristic dress of farm women of
the Ohara village and district somewhat north of Kyoto City.
Traditionally, the women of Ohara carried heavy loads of produce
and other goods on their heads for sale in Kyoto. |
