Tottori Prefect3 -
The Hall of a Thousand Mats is said to have been built by order
of Hideyoshi (1593-1615). In 1894 soldiers were quartered here
on their way to conquer China. As a pun some hung up rice ladles
in the building. The custom spread and continued and now there
are thousands of spoons everywhere in the hall. |
