- Suwa Park contains the Nagasaki Library. There is also a banyan
tree planted in 1879 by General and Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant. Memorial
stones for E. Kaempfer, and C.P. Thunberg, and P.F.B. von Siebold
recognize their contributions to the introduction of Western
botany and medicine to Japan and their efforts to transmit knowledge
of Japan to the West. |
